We should be grateful to Allah the creator and sustainer of the universe, who has given us his mercy and blessing and abundant other gift that we won't be able to count, peace be upon prophet Muhammad.SAW, the idol of all muslims, all over the world for our happiness and the hereafter.
I won’t forget my thanks to the master of ceremony who has kindly to alowwed me to stand before the audience in this opportunity. Well let me try to discuss about:
Tauhid in islam
My muslim brothers !
As we know that Muhammad SAW is the last prophet sent by Allah to teachislam to all human being. The basic principle of Islamic teaching is the confesession that there is no god to be worshipped but Allah. This principle is well known in Islamic term as tauhid or the unity of god.
Before the coming of islam quraisy tribes were statue worshippers, they tought that those statues would be a mediator with the god, Al-Qur’an recorded their saying in chapter az-zumar verse 3 :
“we only serve and worship them in order that they may bring us nearer to god”
Islam explains that their tought is false. Man is ordered and worship Allah without any mediator. He may not consider anything or anyone equal to Allah. Comparing Allah as equal with anything or anyone is the greatest sins that wont be forgiven by him.
Honorable audience !
When a few bands of quraisy people accepted islam and believed in the oneness of Allah, there had been utmost and principle change their life. The first people embraced islam who later known as as-saabiquunal Awwaluun were steadfast to face any risk after being conviced of the unity of god.
The history has shown us Billal bin rabbah (may Allah be pleased with him) was able to endure intimidations and violence from the Quraisy people. He was tortured to release his belief that Allah was only one. He was put on the hot sand of the desert with heavy stones pressing his body while he was tortured and whipped repeadtly was the utterance “Ahad-Ahad-Ahad!”. Glory be to Allah, the result of belief in tauhid had raished him up to be the honorable man in the side of Allah.
My beloved brothers!
Tauhid is the root of islam. Without it our confession as the believers is useless, so we must take care of our tauhid. This confession is not only a lip-service, but must also be accompanied by the belief in the heart and its implementation in everyday life.
This belief that there is no god but Allah means the belief that Allah is everything. He is Allah who has created the universe and deserved the rule to the human life and his other creatures with the laws that Allah has revealed to His prophet Muhammad SAW.
This belief should be put firmly in our heart in order to be the real believers. By having the belief in the oneness of God, we will be pleased to be managed by God’s laws and order in all aspects of life. Having the belief of tauhid means the refusal of any wordly, ideology and thought, wich are not based on the teaching of islam. The exsiting life then is the Islamic life, because islam is implemented not only limited to the rites of worship but also in all aspects of life.
